Bringing a System’s Vision to Life

With the need to provide private rooms and expand selected services, RWJBarnabas Health Somerset campus embarked on facilitating a four-phase master plan to renovate two floors of the hospital, improving departmental adjacencies as well as patient, staff and material flow. The first phase of renovations consisted of consolidating Cardiology programs to the 2nd floor, creating a “Cardiology Pavilion” with 12 private rooms.

Phase two will comprise moving Same Day Surgery from a more remote area of the campus to the North and Central Buildings on the 3rd floor, shortening the path of travel for patients and staff. Additional phases include the renovation and expansion to Endoscopy and Physical Rehabilitation. The much-needed finish upgrades reinforce the system’s brand, while also evolving it into the modern community hospital they envisioned.
