Creating a Consumer-Focused Surgical Experience
The new AtlantiCare Health Services Ambulatory Surgical Center, in partnership with Rothman Orthopedics, is a holistic experience designed with consumer focus and operational efficiency as main priorities. In addition to providing visioning, branding, and design services, the team also developed plan revisions for operational efficiency, coordinated equipment, and developed signage concepts, all of which generated an overall comprehensive environment for the health system.
The center includes six state-of-the-art operating rooms, accompanied by twelve pre-op bays, twelve post-op bays, and three private overnight rooms, in addition to ancillary clinical support. The public areas are designed to offer visitors a high-end hospitality environment with flexible seating and gathering areas, promoting comfort and privacy while waiting. This design approach was also carried throughout the clinical sites. Patient care bays and nurses’ stations utilized sophisticated design and materials, thus creating a less clinical consumer experience that is also very functional for staff.
