Providing Care From Every Angle
RWJBarnabas Health’s new Intensive Care Unit features 23 private rooms and 1 isolation room. The plan features a core with arc walls that peel back toward care stations for better visibility, with the sight lines of staff to their patients being a top priority. Included in the Corridor are breakaway sliders and nurse charting stations surrounded by frameless glass. Patient rooms hold state-of-the-art medical booms, allowing staff better access to their patients while still incorporating modern conveniences such as patient TVs and a staff dictation surface.
Natural daylight infuses each room with full-height curtain walls along the exterior. The modern design utilizes a warm palette, wood-tones that are concentrated to nurse stations and doors, aluminum finishes, and cool blue-grays throughout, all aligning with the client’s existing brand. Nurse stations reinforce the modern feel by disengaging the surrounding columns with their sleek, curvilinear shapes and Corian clad transactions.
